SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • The competition is open to anyone over 18 years of age.
  • Emailed photos will be displayed in the online gallery accessible from the Competition Page. The gallery will show the title and description of the photo but not the photographer’s name or email address. 
  • In the event of any technical difficulties with the upload form please contact info@rotaryalmancil.com
  • Entry is free although the Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC) would welcome donations of any amount to help support its ongoing work. A donation form is available on the right side of this page.
  • Submissions will not be accepted once the closing date has passed. The closing date will be published on the competition page.
  • Photos submitted must be at least 640 pixels on the shorter side, and no more than 2000 pixels on the longer side. File sizes should be no larger than 2MB. Photos must be in JPEG format. Entrants may wish to retain a higher resolution format of submitted photographs which may be requested for publicity purposes. 
  • You may submit up to 5 photographs. Please provide a title and, optionally, a short description for each image submitted.
  • Submitted photos must have no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references and/or marks on the image. 
  • Equally photographs must not contain any obvious product placement or advertising material nor any celebrity images.
  • Equally photographs must not show (individual) people.
  • Basic editing, including colour enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the photo(s).
  • Advanced editing used to create illusions, deceptions and/or manipulations, and the adding and removing of significant elements within the frame is not permitted.
  • Photos that, in the judgement of AIRC, portray or otherwise include inappropriate and/or offensive content will be disregarded.


JUDGING

  • AIRC will appoint a judge / judges as described on the Competition Page. 
  • The judging panel will assess and determine the winning photos. The results and the winners will be announced on the website and winners will be notified. Winners can be asked to submit a higher quality version of their photograph(s) for publicity purposes.


THE PRIZES

  • The nature of prizes will be published on the Competition Page.


COPYRIGHT

  • Copyright holders retain copyright of their work but grant AIRC unlimited non-exclusive use of high-resolution pictures for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the contest and the exhibition, without any remuneration being due.
  • The Photographer will be credited wherever the image is used.


DATA PROTECTION

  • AIRC will use your data only in connection with this competition and will not sell, give away or otherwise dispose of personal data to any third party.
